The director and producer of “Guardians of the Galaxy” will soon present his version of the Man of Steel, played by David Corenswet. He also promised more updates until the premiere date.
From the DC Universe was published this week the first trailer for the new beginning of “Superman“, which is now played by the actor David Corenswet. The film is directed by the director and producer James Gunnwho shared the video on his X account.
Gunn is the man behind other productions like “Suicide Squad” and of the saga “Guardians of the Galaxy”. The cast is completed with the actress Rachel Brosnahanin the role of Lois Lane(who just starred in the series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”) and Isabella Mercedwho plays Hawkgirl; in addition to Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner.
The first Superman trailer has arrived
The selection of Corenswet for the role of Superman generated several comments more than anything because it occurred after the departure of Henry Cavill – who at 41 years old did not fit into the young facet that Gunn was looking for to relaunch the DC Universe saga -, and because his physical transformation was total to play the “Man of Steel.”
Lex Luthor played by Nicholas Hoult will also reappear. At one point, Superman fans thought the role might go to the actor. Michael Rosenbaumwho for seven seasons played the villain in the series “Smallville” and is a friend of James Gunn, but the director seems to have opted for a total reboot with the cast.
Meanwhile, James Gunn proudly showed off the trailer for the new incarnation of Superman and promised more updates until its release date, which will be sometime in July 2025.
