Cronin will write and direct the upcoming film, which does not yet have a title but has a release date of April 17, 2026. A cast has not yet been assigned for the film.
Cronin said of the upcoming reboot in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter: “This will be unlike any The Mummy movie you’ve ever seen before.. “I’m digging deep into the earth to uncover something very old and very scary.”
The news was confirmed with a post on Blumhouse’s Instagram account.

It is currently unknown if Cronin’s adaptation will be a one-off film or if it will kick off a new franchise for the series.
