His turbulent year 2024

Between baby happiness and the probable end of “DSDS”: The year 2024 had a lot of ups and downs in store for Pietro Lombardi.

Joy and suffering are often close together. Pietro Lombardi (32) also found out about this in 2024. Because just shortly after the birth of his third child in August, he seemed to be in shambles both personally and professionally. On the night of October 7th, the police arrived because of a violent argument with his fiancée Laura Maria Rypa (turns 29 on December 15th), and she was then taken to a clinic with her baby. Lombardi’s future as a “DSDS” juror was in jeopardy after the scandal. He will be replaced next season by rapper Bushido (46), reported “Bild”. But the 32-year-old doesn’t want to let that get him down. He reconciled with his partner and has since become more familiar with her than ever. And I want to continue with “great things” professionally.

Baby happiness was followed by argumentative drama

Lombardi has experienced a lot of turbulence in his personal and professional life in recent months. With Laura Maria Rypa he had Amelio Elija. This is their second son after Leona (1). He also has a son Alessio (9) from his marriage to Sarah Engels (32). “Our hearts are filled with love and we enjoy the days and time together. It’s so beautiful to see our family grow,” the couple shared on Instagram in August. Alongside a photo from the hospital, they wrote: “We are incredibly happy to announce that our son Amelio Elija was born healthy.

The controversy headlines at the beginning of October were all the more shocking. Lombardi and Rypa quickly tried to limit the damage. The mood in the family is currently “very good,” the singer reported in an interview with the “Bild” newspaper. His partner agreed that the two were doing “well given the circumstances.” “So yes, as Pietro has already confirmed, the police were with us. But to be honest, I have to say, it was really such a blatant argument that we haven’t had before.”

A little thing broke the camel’s back. “But suddenly it just escalated and I just didn’t know what to do anymore. I was just so overwhelmed by the situation and then I called the police.” The two “argued loudly” and Lombardi started “throwing stuff around.” However, he “never hit” the mother of his children, as he also stated in an Instagram video.

“2025 will be a tough year”

Nevertheless, the question quickly arose as to whether, after this behavior, the 32-year-old could still keep his position as a juror on the show with which he became famous in 2011: “Germany is looking for the superstar”. His future in the RTL casting show seems uncertain. But he was “never thrown out,” emphasized Lombardi after the finale of the 2024 season. The RTL head department told him that “they would think about the new season and the new jury.” At the end of November, he assured his Instagram followers: “RTL definitely wanted to get in touch soon and then I will let you know what happens next.” But no matter what happens, one thing is certain: “I will do great things, I promise.”

At the end of November he was combative: “They really thought they could break me. Maybe next time it will work.” And he announced: “2025 will be a bad year, and I’m already looking forward to seeing the faces of all the people who indirectly teased and were gloating. Soon you’ll only be able to look at me in the rearview mirror, I promise.” In December he announced that he was planning many events in the Kraftwerk event hall in Chemnitz. He’s also going on tour in February and is getting physically fit: he’s already lost ten kilograms by mid-December.

At the end of October he already proved himself in the dark experiment “Lights Out!” (Prime Video) apart from “DSDS”. He was not averse to his own casting show on Instagram. But first he will make a name for himself with new music. His third studio album “Kapitel” is scheduled to be released on January 17th. The singles “I don’t understand the world anymore” and “I love you” already provided a foretaste. His tour is scheduled for February – which will be his last for the time being. But he wants to continue to make individual appearances. He said he had “big plans” in November.

Wedding postponed

But a wedding is probably not one of them for the time being. The singer confirmed in March that the wedding would take place in 2025. But recently Rypa, with whom he has been dating since 2020 and engaged since 2022, announced in an Instagram question and answer session that the time had not yet come. “We are in no hurry to get married. The original plan was to get married when Leano was a little older and could consciously experience the day.” However, the couple now wants to wait until their youngest son Amelio can “share this special moment with us”. First, there are other private goals: the couple is currently renovating a house in Cologne that they bought last year. It also wants to return with the joint podcast in 2025.
