Duchess Meghan posted a short video from the beach on Instagram. This not only welcomes the New Year, but may also indicate professional news.
It has long been rumored what the Instagram account with the simple name @meghan is all about. For months the profile picture was just a photo of pink flowers, but the account still generated followers. In the summer of 2023, the first people suspected that the profile could be that of Duchess Meghan. Now it turns out that they were right in their assumption.
Duchess Meghan is back on Instagram
Just in time for the start of the New Year, Prince Harry’s wife made her first post from her account. She can be seen in the video herself. Dressed entirely in white, Meghan walks barefoot across a beach. It appears to have been filmed on New Year’s morning, or at least that’s what it suggests. Because towards the end of the short clip, Meghan paints “2025” in the sand with her finger. At the very end you can see her again. The Duchess laughs into the camera, then continues walking.

The profile picture is now also a photo of the Duchess. According to the Daily Mail, the clip was filmed by Prince Harry. 2025 could also be an important year for Meghan professionally. Last year, the Duchess launched her company American Riviera Orchard, but fans have been waiting in vain for products.
From number girl to duchess: This is how Meghan has changed over the years
Before Meghan Markle got a taste of Hollywood air and later became a duchess, she had to start small on TV in 2006: as a number girl on the game show “Deal or No Deal”. An experience she later looked back on with mixed feelings. “I was grateful for the job, but not for how it made me feel. Namely… not smart. By the way, I was surrounded by smart women who were on stage with me,” she said on an episode of her podcast “Archetypes”. “But that wasn’t the reason we were there. And at the end I went home with a sinking feeling in my stomach because I knew I was so much more than what was being objectified on stage.”

The Duchess’ return to the social media platform is quite surprising. In the past, she and Harry regularly spoke about the hate and verbal abuse they experienced online. “I was told that I was the most trolled person in the entire world in 2019 – male or female,” Meghan said on the Teen Therapy podcast a few years ago.
“For my own protection I haven’t been on social media for a very long time. I had a personal account years ago which I closed down and then we had one in the UK through the institution and our office, separate from us, that became “It wasn’t managed by us, it was a whole team,” she explained in 2020 during a video interview for the Fortune Most Powerful Women Next Gen event.
