After years of social media abstinence, Meghan is back again. Prince Harry’s wife wants to use her positive influence there.
Duchess Meghan is back on Instagram. Prince Harry’s wife (40) had withdrawn from social media in recent years. Now she is making a brilliant comeback: after a short time, the account @meghan already had several hundred thousand followers.
The first post shows the 43-year-old on the beach in Montecito, California. The camera follows her for a few meters before she draws the year 2025 in the wet sand with her hand. According to dpa information, the clip was recorded by Prince Harry.
Commitment against cyberbullying
People close to the couple said Meghan was looking forward to returning to social media. She wanted to post news there about projects she had worked on. At the same time, she wants to promote joyful and thoughtful interaction online.
Harry and Meghan have long been committed to combating the negative impact that social media can have on mental health and entire societies. Last year, during a visit to Colombia, they attended a conference with events on cyberbullying.
Five years ago, the couple broke away from the royals
Harry and Meghan broke away from the inner circle of the British royal family about five years ago. They now live in the US state of California with their two children, Prince Archie (5) and Princess Lilibet (3).
The relationship with the other royals is considered to be broken. Harry is particularly in conflict with his brother William (42). But also the relationship with his father King Charles III. (76) is considered tense. The publication of Harry’s autobiography “Spare” and a Netflix documentary series in which the couple documented their estrangement from the royal family contributed to this.
Meghan, who has a successful career as an actress (“Suits”) and activist for women’s rights, shut down her social media channels after her wedding to Harry in 2018.
