Matthias Brüggenolte: “Everything that counts” star is leaving the series

Since 2020, Matthias Brüggenolte (46) has been seen in the role of Justus Albrecht in the RTL daily “Everything that counts” (Monday to Friday, 7:05 p.m.). But now it’s time to say goodbye. As per , the actor will be seen in the series for the last time on January 7th.

Saying goodbye doesn’t seem to be easy for Brüggenolte after almost five years. In the farewell interview with RTL he is visibly fighting back tears. “It was always very special to come here,” he explained. “I haven’t complained once in four and a half years. I’ve always been happy because I always feel like a fish in water here.” His role in “Everything that counts” comes to a tragic end. “That was very emotional,” says Brüggenolte, describing the filming of his final scenes. “I’m going to miss this little world,” the actor said, forming his hands into a heart. Its final episode is already available on before it airs next Tuesday.

A wounded heart, a lot of anger and a fire inferno put an end to Brüggenolte’s role, Justus Albrecht. Jenny Steinkamp (Kaja Schmidt-Tychsen, 43) is deeply hurt because her husband Justus cheated on her. But not only that, her mother, Simone Steinkamp (Tatjana Clasing, 60), also knew about the affair. That’s why Jenny now wants to destroy her mother’s life’s work and sets the ice rink on fire – without knowing that she is putting Justus’ life in danger. Justus is taken to the hospital with severe burns, where he succumbs to them.
