The complaint, filed in Federal Criminal and Correctional Court 7, focuses on the misuse of public property assigned within the framework of the State Protection and Custody Service. The accusation indicates that said resources would have been used for personal purposes.
The presentation took place a day after President Javier Milei questioned the state custody of Yañez and asked the Justice Department to withdraw it. “I am sure that justice will evaluate this request positively. Citizens’ taxes are to improve the lives of the population. Not for privileges of those who did not carry out the investiture with austerity“, indicated the head of state on his social networks.
Fabiola Yanez, who currently lives in Spain, as a partner of the former President of the Nation, has been a beneficiary of the State Protection and Custody Service, which aims to guarantee the personal safety of certain officials and their immediate family members. Said service includes the assignment of human and material resources of the State, such as guards, official vehicles and drivers, with the sole purpose of preserving security.
“In violation of the purpose of this service, Ms. Yáñez would have repeatedly used the assigned assets for activities of a strictly personal nature, such as using the custodians of drivers and use of the assigned vehicles for purposes not related to her safety,” indicates the complaint filed by Pagano.
“These facts, if confirmed, would constitute a clear diversion of public goods for purposes other than those for which they were intended, affecting the correct administration and use of resources of the National State,” the deputy explained in court.
