Barbara Meier will walk at Paris Fashion Week at the end of January. She has now spoken about her return to the catwalk in an interview.

Barbara Meier (38) spoke about her catwalk comeback in Paris. Accordingly, she will be walking in Lena Erziak’s show as part of Fashion Week on January 28th, marking her first appearance at the event in the French capital 15 years after her last engagement.

Paris is still the absolute pinnacle of the fashion world, which makes her even happier about this return, Meier enthuses in the interview. “In the past, no model in Paris would have made it onto the catwalk at 38. When I first appeared there, I was 20 and already the oldest.” In 2010 she walked for designer Wolfgang Joop (80) and his brand “Wunderkind”.

Barbara Meier became known in 2007 after winning the model casting show “Germany’s Next Top Model”. After her victory, the Amberg native did numerous shoots for magazines and a few catwalk jobs. Meier later went to New York for acting lessons. In 2018 she also took part in the RTL dance show “Let’s Dance”. She married the Austrian entrepreneur Klemens Hallmann (49) in June 2019. Their daughters were born in 2020 and 2022.

“My body has done a lot”

In the past, she would have trained weeks beforehand, gone on a diet and been afraid of being replaced shortly before the show, says Meier before her new appearance in Paris. Today she pays more attention to her children, “whether they eat healthily and sleep well.” She eats quickly when she has time and doesn’t sleep enough.

Before the show, she wanted to pay a little more attention to herself, do something good for herself and “practice swinging her hips a little bit in high heels.” Overall, she is calm about the whole thing. “My body has achieved so much in the meantime,” says Meier. “Why should I complain about a dent on my butt? Besides, I think to myself: Anyone who books me knows what they’re getting.”
