“Emilia Pérez” gets comedy globe
“Emilia Pérez” was recently named the best European film of the year in Lucerne. Now the unconventional musical film wins the Golden Globe in the “Comedy/Musical” category in Hollywood.
The French production “Emilia Pérez” won the Golden Globe in the “Comedy/Musical” category. The musical film by star director Jacques Audiard won against “Anora”, “Challengers”, “A Real Pain”, “The Substance” and “Wicked”.
The story revolves around a Mexican cartel boss who has his gender changed to female. The Spanish Karla Sofía Gascón plays the main role.
The Globe Awards announced the winners in 27 film and television categories on Monday night in Beverly Hills. The 82nd Trophy Gala was broadcast live on US broadcaster CBS.
