The winners of the Golden Globes

On January 5th, the Golden Globes were awarded for the 82nd time in Los Angeles. Among others, Demi Moore and “Emilia Pérez” triumphed

Demi Moore (62) is one of the lucky winners of the Golden Globes 2025. She was awarded best actress in a comedy for “The Substance” on Sunday evening (January 5th) – and could hardly believe it.

“Oh wow. I really wasn’t expecting this. I’m just in shock right now. I’ve been doing this for so long, over 45 years, and this is the first time I’ve won anything as an actor,” Moore said in her Speech. “I’m just so humbled and so grateful.” Her family was also happy: In a video posted on Instagram, you can see how her three daughters Rumer (36), Scout (33) and Tallulah Willis (30) watched the award ceremony on television and then burst into loud cheers.

“The Brutalist” and “Emilia Pérez” do justice to their role as favorites

“The Brutalist”, a historical epic about the experiences of immigrants after the war, and “Emilia Pérez”, a musical about a drug lord who undergoes gender reassignment surgery, were considered top favorites for the Golden Globe Awards in advance – and could fulfill this role. “Emilia Pérez,” which won best musical or comedy, dominated with four wins. The film was nominated for ten Globes. “The Brutalist,” which won best drama, was close behind with three wins.

“Shōgun,” a lavish historical saga set in feudal Japan, dominated the TV awards, winning four awards including best TV drama. “Baby Reindeer,” Richard Gadd’s semi-autobiographical look at his experiences with a stalker, was named best miniseries, anthology or made-for-TV movie, one of two honors bestowed on the Netflix series. “Hacks,” the story of a stand-up legend and his child prodigy, was another double winner, taking home the award for best TV series – musical or comedy.

The best actresses and actors

“The Brutalist” star Adrien Brody (51) was named best actor in a drama, while Brady Corbet (36) was honored as best director.

Quite surprisingly, Fernanda Torres (59) from “I’m Still Here” came out on top as best actress in a drama. She prevailed against more prominent competitors such as Nicole Kidman (57, “Babygirl”) and Angelina Jolie (49, “Maria”).

Sebastian Stan (42), who was nominated twice, was awarded best actor in a comedy for “A Different Man”. Hiroyuki Sanada (64) received a Golden Globe for best actor in a television drama for his portrayal of an ambitious nobleman in “Shōgun”, while his co-actress Anna Sawai (32) was honored as best actress in a television drama.

With her role as a comedic legend in “Hacks,” Jean Smart (73) won best actress in a TV comedy. “I never thought I’d be so happy about being called a bungler,” she joked about her role. Jeremy Allen White (33), who did not come to the award ceremony, received a Golden Globe for best actor in a TV comedy for the third time in a row – for his role as an ambitious cooking genius in “The Bear”

“The Penguin” star Colin Farrell (48) has been named best actor in a miniseries, anthology or television film. Jodie Foster (62) was named best actress in the category for her role as a prickly police officer in “True Detective: North Country.”

Kieran Culkin (42) nabbed the award for best supporting actor for his role in “A Real Pain” as an emotionally damaged man who tours Poland with his cousin. Zoe Saldaña (46,”Emilia Pérez”) was very emotional. She fought back tears after being honored as best supporting actress.
