He becomes a grandfather at the age of 44
Lilly Gerrard, the daughter of football legend Steven Gerrard, announced her pregnancy on Instagram.
The former English national soccer player Steven Gerrard (44) has reason to be happy. His 20-year-old daughter Lilly posted on Instagram late Sunday evening (January 5). The influencer shared the good news on the social network with her over 211,000 followers.
Steven Gerrard speaks of ‘great news’
“Our little secret. The best news, our mini version is on the way,” wrote Gerrard alongside a picture of pregnancy tests, ultrasound images and a pair of baby shoes. Lilly Gerrard’s father reacted enthusiastically to the news in a comment. “We can’t wait. Great news and congratulations, we love you,” he wrote. His wife Alex Gerrard (42), one of the most famous players’ wives in Great Britain, also added: “I can hardly wait.”
Lilly Gerrard has been in a relationship with Lee Byrne, the father of her unborn child, since 2022. He is the son of a well-known Irish gangster who is currently serving a prison sentence of several years, but is said to have no personal connections to the Irish underworld.
In addition to daughter Lilly, Steven Gerrard and his wife Alex share three children: daughters Lexie (18) and Lourdes (13) and son Lio (8). During his playing career, Gerrard was captain of both Liverpool FC and the English national team. He won the Champions League with his club in 2005. He is currently coaching the al-Ettifaq club in Saudi Arabia.
