Pamela Anderson was threatened on a plane by a passenger who mistook her. He “almost murdered” her, Anderson said.

Former “Baywatch” star Pamela Anderson (57) was the victim of a mix-up on a plane that almost had a bad end. the now 57-year-old remembered the threatening situation above the clouds.

“A man came to me and asked if I knew what this country had done for me,” Anderson said. “I just thought, ‘Oh my God, what have I done?'” Apparently the passenger didn’t think the actress was the TV star, but rather a member of the famous country band The Chicks, formerly known as The Dixie Chicks.

Stewardess had to hold attacker down

Whenever Anderson looked in his direction, the man growled angrily at her. Ultimately, he even tried to become physically violent. “A stewardess had to hold him in his seat because he wanted to attack me,” reported the actress. “He thought I was a Dixie Chick. Remember the whole Dixie Chicks thing? I was almost murdered on a plane.”

Anderson left it open exactly when the incident occurred. But it probably happened in the wake of the heated controversy surrounding The Chicks in 2003. At that time, lead singer Natalie Maines (50) sharply criticized the Iraq War and the then US President George W. Bush (78) at a concert in London, as agreed by US -American media reported. In doing so, the band positioned itself surprisingly politically to the left and attracted the hatred of many conservative country fans at the time.

Radio stations banned the band’s songs

As a result, the band’s songs were banned from many country radio stations. The Chicks received death threats and many fans boycotted their concerts or destroyed their albums – despite a later softening of their statements, which many saw as a mere tactical backtracking for fear of financial losses. In 2006, Maines finally withdrew her supposed apology: In her opinion, Bush did not deserve respect.

Although Anderson described the plane incident as “rather minor,” she admitted it left her deeply shaken. “I was a bit afraid of flying afterwards,” said the actress in the podcast conversation.
