Devastating fires in Los Angeles force thousands of people to flee. Among them are numerous world-famous Hollywood stars.
Several devastating forest fires are raging in Southern California, which also reached the western edge of the film metropolis of Los Angeles last Tuesday. The Pacific Palisades district, known for its prominent residents, is particularly affected by the fire inferno. Numerous Hollywood stars now fear losing their properties worth millions.
30,000 residents fleeing the flames
around 30,000 residents have had to be evacuated so far, and more than 13,000 buildings are said to be threatened by the fire. According to further reports, many residents initially tried to escape in their cars, but eventually abandoned them in the traffic jam that developed in order to continue their escape on foot. To get to the fires, authorities eventually used bulldozers to clear the streets of abandoned cars.
These Hollywood stars are affected
Numerous big Hollywood stars were affected by the inferno and now have to look for emergency accommodation. In Pacific Palisades, among others, actor Tom Hanks (68) and his wife Rita Wilson (68) have a spacious villa that could now fall victim to the flames. Stars such as Jennifer Aniston (55), Bradley Cooper (50), Adam Sandler (58) and Michael Keaton (73) also live in this exclusive enclave. Actor Ben Affleck (52) also has to fear losing his single villa, which he only moved into in August 2024 after his separation from Jennifer Lopez (55).
“Police Academy” star becomes a fire hero
Also affected by the fires is “Police Academy” star Steve Guttenberg (66), who, however, did not immediately flee, but instead actively helped the fire department clear the abandoned cars from the streets.
Action star Ralf Möller posts apocalyptic impressions
In addition to US stars, several German celebrities are also directly affected by the inferno. The German action star Ralf Möller (65), who lives in the Santa Monica district, provided several first-hand impressions of the spreading conflagration. : “I’ve never experienced anything like this in more than 30 years here in the USA. Thea Gottschalk (79), the ex-wife of presenter Thomas Gottschalk (74), also had to leave her house. the apocalyptic view from her balcony that greeted her before she fled to the safety of San Diego to visit her daughters-in-law. She wrote: “Even if the fire (hopefully) doesn’t come that close, the air is very bad and nobody knows how long the fire devil will have fun. ‘Rome is burning’ no LA is burning.”
