“Dexter” star Courtney Ford (46) and former “Superman” Brandon Routh (45) are divorcing after more than 17 years of marriage. As reported, Ford filed for divorce on Wednesday (January 7). The actress is said to have stated “irreconcilable differences” in the papers as the reason. She did not give a date of separation.
The documents also show that Ford has applied for joint legal and physical custody of their son Leo (12) as well as spousal support. At the same time, she asked the court in the papers not to grant her husband any spousal support.
Divorce over 20 years after first meeting
Ford and Routh met in 2003 at a Los Angeles bowling alley where the “Superman Returns” star worked as a bartender. Ford attended the dress rehearsal of her brother’s wedding dinner there at the same time. “He met my whole family the day he met me,” the actress said.
The couple announced their engagement in 2006, which was followed by their wedding in 2007. They tied the knot on November 24, 2007 at the El Capitan Ranch in Santa Barbara, California. They finally welcomed their son Leo into the world in 2012.
Joint film appearances
Courtney Ford made a name for herself primarily as a series actress. She became known to a wide audience through her role as reporter Christine Hill in the crime series “Dexter”.
