In 2023, Reynolds and McElhenney became owners of Alpine Racing Ltd. through a consortium, acquiring 24% of the team. The operation valued the team at around $900 million, with an approximate contribution of $218 million from the actors.
Reynolds leads Maximum Effort Investments, the firm that is part of The Investor Group, which has also worked with the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL, Toulouse FC of French soccer and Wrexham of Wales. The actor Michael B. Jordan is another of the co-investors.

Reynolds and McElhenney have experience in sports investment activities: Since 2021 they have owned Wrexhama Welsh football team. They managed to get the team out of ostracism, obtaining two promotions in three years after 15 seasons in the same category. They also produced the series “Welcome to Wrexham”which brought the Welsh club to the world’s screens. Wrexham is the third oldest club in English football history, founded in 1864.
