Venezuela: nine former presidents will accompany Edmundo González Urrutia on his return to the country
The former president of Colombia, Andrés Pastrana, stated before the inauguration that he and eight other former Latin American leaders will accompany the Venezuelan opposition leader on his return to his country, in an attempt to assume the presidency on January 10despite the fact that the regime recognizes Nicolás Maduro as the winner of the presidential elections of July 28.
In detail, Pastrana explained that nine former heads of state members of the international forum Democratic Initiative of Spain and the Americas (IDEA Group) will travel with González Urrutia, first to Panama and then to Venezuela. In response, the nine former leaders were declared persona non grata by the National Assembly of Venezuela after making public his intention to accompany González Urrutia.
