Princess Leonor of Spain boarded a training ship in naval uniform. As part of her training, she will soon sail to America.
Princess Leonor of Spain (19) was visibly in a good mood at the harbor in the Spanish city of Cádiz. In her naval uniform and with a smile on her lips, she set off for the training ship “Juan Sebastián de Elcano”, with which she will set off on a six-month journey on January 11th.
The daughter of King Felipe VI. (56) and Queen Letizia (52) have been completing military training since 2023, which is now taking them to the high seas. As reported, she will “cross two oceans and visit ten ports in eight American countries” on the voyage.
Six months on the ship
According to the newspaper, Princess Leonor and the other crew first stop in Spain twice. They are scheduled to dock in Santa Cruz de Tenerife from January 17th to 20th before arriving in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on January 21st. On the further journey, the ship will take Leonor and 75 other trainees to ports in Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Panama, Colombia and the Dominican Republic. The last stay is planned from June 5th to 10th in the USA before returning to the Spanish city of Marín on July 7th.
