Film icon Glenn Close revealed during a talk show appearance which of her numerous on-screen partners kissed best.
Screen legend Glenn Close (77) can look back on several successful years as an actress. The now 77-year-old, one of the biggest stars of the 1980s and 90s, has already appeared in front of the camera with iconic actors such as Michael Douglas (80), Jeremy Irons (76) and Jeff Bridges (75). However, as a guest on the talk show, Close revealed that she shared her best movie kiss with Oscar winner Robert Redford (88).
Dreamy memory of Robert Redford
Host Andy Cohen (56) played a game with Close in which she has to answer three questions truthfully, but can refuse to answer one. When asked what her best onscreen kiss was, the star of classic films like “A Disastrous Affair” and “Dangerous Liaisons” replied in a dreamy voice: “Robert Redford… in ‘The Indomitable’.”
Sounding slightly wistful, Close added: “I only kissed him once,” only to admit when Cohen asked: “Maybe we shot two takes.”
In the sports film “The Indomitable”, Redford embodied a baseball talent who, after an unsuccessful career, took off again at an older age. Close played Iris, the childhood sweetheart of Redford’s character Roy Hobbs and mother of his child.
Glenn Close will also be doing well in 2025
In her long career, Close has won three Emmy Awards, Tony Awards and Golden Globe Awards, but so far no Academy Award. In just a few days she will be seen in the new Netflix action film “Back in Action”, playing an important supporting role alongside the returnee Cameron Diaz (52) and Jamie Foxx (57). The action comedy starts on the streaming service on January 17th.
Close will also be seen in the upcoming “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery”, the third part of the “Knives Out” film series, alongside former James Bond actor Daniel Craig (56). The latter title is scheduled to be released in 2025. A precise start date is not yet known.
