The fire disaster in California also destroyed the house that Joshua Jackson has loved since he was a child.
Joshua Jackson (46) lost his parents’ home in the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. However, he was happy that he and his loved ones were unharmed.
“Unfortunately my beautiful home did not survive the fires”
A rep for the former “Dawson’s Creek” star confirmed Sunday (January 12) that the building in Topanga burned down. “First and most important, everyone closest to me who was affected by the fire is doing well,” Jackson said in a statement. “My daughter, my family, my neighbors all made it outside safely. Unfortunately, my beautiful home did not survive the fires.” But he feels “incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love.”
Jackson was born in Vancouver but spent his early childhood in the house near LA. At the age of eight, he moved back to Canada after his parents divorced. In 2001, he bought back the $2 million property from the man his parents had sold it to and lived there with his four-year-old daughter Juno Rose Diana, whom he has with his ex-wife Jodie-Turner Smith (38). “My father, unfortunately, wasn’t a good father or husband and fell out of the picture,” he told Mr. Porter in July 2021. “But in that house in Topanga, everything felt easy, so that was very healing for me .”
At that time he also revealed that his former children’s room was now occupied by his little one. “There was a dragon painting on the wall in this room, and I couldn’t believe it was still there years later.”
Many stars affected
Thousands of buildings have been destroyed in Los Angeles and the surrounding area, leaving at least 16 dead. Numerous celebrities have lost their properties, including Paris Hilton (43), Leighton Meester (38) and Adam Brody (45), Anna Faris (48), Mel Gibson (69) and Anthony Hopkins (87).
