The World Federation of Medical Education granted a “Recognition Status” to the National Commission for University Assessment and Accreditation as an accrediting agency for medicine programs.
The Ministry of Human Capital announced this Tuesday that the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) granted a “Status of Recognition” to the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU) as an accrediting agency for medical programs. “What is recognized is that our accreditation processes are valid and for that reason, they are not going to ask to recertify the titles, since it is certified that Argentina meets international standards,” they explained from the Ministry of Education of the Nation of the Ministry of Human Capital in a statement.


It is valid until January 31, 2035 and is subject to annual monitoring to verify continued compliance with the criteria established by the. Until now, only Colombia and Chile had been recognized in the region.

The National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU) meets international standards.
“The WFME confirmed that the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation has received the certification of meeting the high criteria of the global institution, through a formal communication received by the educational authorities and CONEAU,” Capital Humano reported.
The “Recognition Status” was sent by the WFME to the Undersecretary of University Policies of the Secretariat of Human Capital Education, who had been working with CONEAU.
Which universities will have this recognition
Human Capital reported that the “Recognition Status” offers the possibility to graduates of universities certified by CONEAU to practice medicine in countries that require this condition. Especially in the United States.
Among its functions, CONEAU has to coordinate and carry out the external evaluation of university institutions and accredit undergraduate courses that meet the standards established by the Ministry of Human Capital in consultation with the Council of Universities.
