US series star Jeremy Piven announces that his mother Joyce has died at the age of 94.
“Joyce Piven has left us.” With these words, the American series star Jeremy Piven (59) begins that his mother died at the age of 94. “I pretended this day wouldn’t come, but now it is here,” writes Piven, who is known for his roles in the HBO series “Entourage.”
“If you know me, you know how much I love this woman. Yes, she is my mother, but she was an incredible human being,” the actor continued. He also publishes several pictures. In one of the photos, Joyce has her head leaning on her son’s shoulder, and in another, he is holding her hand as she lies in a hospital bed.
Comedy and drama can exist at the same time
The deceased was a drama teacher who really enjoyed the development of her students and taught them to “respect the space we take up when we perform”. She also conveyed the integrity of the work and how lucky one was to have received it. She went through texts with him right up to the end, always slipping into the roles and using the appropriate accent.
“I’m not entirely sure how I’ll cope without her,” Piven writes. “She taught us that comedy and drama can exist at the same time, just like in life. She influenced so many lives. She taught acting not so you could become a professional, but so you could learn more about yourself.” She was graceful until her last breath. “We don’t know how much time we have in this human form, but I can tell you that we have lost a good person,” assures Piven. “She dances with my father.”
Numerous colleagues from show business expressed their condolences to Piven – including top model Cindy Crawford (58) and “Charmed” star Alyssa Milano (52).
