Rock star Sting was supposed to be on stage this Thursday. But nothing comes of it for now – the 73-year-old has to cancel appearances due to illness.
Rock superstar Sting has had to postpone two of his January concerts in the USA due to an unspecified illness. The 73-year-old will also not be performing at this Thursday’s Bass Magazine Awards show in Santa Ana, California, as announced on the singer’s Instagram page. The US concerts in Phoenix on January 24th and two days later in Wheatland have been postponed to June 1st and May 28th.
“On the advice of his doctor” and “due to illness,” the performances would be postponed, the message on social media said. It remained unclear whether Sting would be able to take part in the benefit concert for those affected by the devastating fires in Southern California on January 30th as planned. His “Sting 3.0” tour will also take the former frontman of the band “The Police” to Germany this year, with concerts planned in Berlin and Munich, among others.
