Two years after the death of rock legend Jeff Beck, his guitars are fetching millions of dollars in bids at an auction in London. The estimated values are significantly exceeded.
Rock legend Jeff Beck’s guitar collection fetched more than eight times its estimated price at an auction in London. The almost 130 objects – in addition to guitars, amplifiers and pedals, among other things – were auctioned on Wednesday for the equivalent of around 10.3 million euros (almost 8.73 million pounds) at the traditional auction house Christie’s.
“It makes me truly happy that Jeff’s guitars are so beloved by his fans and friends,” Sandra Beck, the widow of the guitarist who died two years ago, said in a statement from Christie’s. “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for carrying on Jeff’s legacy!”
