The family is under shock: Susanne von Bülow, the daughter of the legendary comedian Loriot, died surprisingly at the age of only 66.
This message provides dismay: Susanne von Bülow, one of the two daughters of the unforgettable humorist Vicco by Bülow alias Loriot (1923-2011), died at the age of only 66.
Her older sister Bettina von Bülow (70): “My sister died of cardiac arrest a week ago. It’s a big shock.” She is not doing well, she now wants to say goodbye to her again: “At the moment I can no longer say that her death is very close to me.”
Her partner Michael R. (66) also spoke in a short statement about the death of Susanne von Bülow: “For us, Susanne is suddenly and unexpectedly divorced from life. We are all shaken and in deep grief”. Most recently, Susanne von Bülow was seen in February 2023 at the Berlinale, where she presented the film “Loriot’s big cartoon revue”.
Susanne von Bülow wanted to renovate the villa of Loriot
Until her death, she lived in Loriot’s former studio in Ammerland, Bavarian, right next to the family’s main residential building, which she is said to have renovated. After a long time in Italy, she pulled there before her father’s death to take care of her parents.
Together with her sister, she also managed the artistic heritage of her famous father. The first-time graphic artist initially worked in Diogenes-Verlag and later learned restoration. For 30 years she commuted between the parents’ house in Ammerland and Italy before setting up in Bavaria. According to the newspaper, Susanne von Bülow will be buried next to her father in the family grave in the cemetery on Berliner Heerstrasse.
