They are considered legends – and are now enriched by an honor. Some band members of Grateful Dead in Los Angeles personally accept their award.
The musicians of the rock band Grateful Dead have been awarded “People of 2025” at a charity gala in Los Angeles. The non-profit organization Musicares awarded the prize on Friday (local time). In addition to the singer and guitarist Bobby Weir (77), drummer Bill Kreutzmann (78) as well as the drummer and percussionist Mickey Hart (81), the late founding members of Greatful Dead, Jerry Garcia and Phil Lesh were honored.
Musicares collected donations for musicians in need that evening, including those affected by the devastating forest fires in Los Angeles. The US rock band Grateful Dead was founded in 1965.
