Almost a year separated from Hans Mahr
In her new book, RTL presenter Katja Burkard reveals a previously unknown relationship crisis with Hans Mahr.
RTL presenter Katja Burkard (59) reveals a dramatic private crisis for the first time in her new autobiography “60 is 60: And why it doesn’t hurt at all” for the first time that nobody knew about for the first time. At the turn of 2021/2022, she separated from her long-time partner, media entrepreneur Hans Mahr (75).
Katja Burkard: “I don’t want to go anymore!”
“The question drove me: do I want to continue in this relationship, in which we both had quite far from each other through different opinions, different interests, different developments?”, Which will be released on February 12. Your clear answer: “I don’t want to go anymore!”
A decision that completely surprised her partner. “Of course my husband fell out of all clouds. He didn’t understand it, thought that I was getting in again,” recalls Burkard, emphasizing that it was “no second about other partners or partners”. Instead, it was “about the usual nervous stuff that had been bought in me for a while”.
Dramatic reconciliation after party night
The couple lived under one roof for almost a year, but went their separate paths. Mahr still sent his great love red roses every Saturday. The end of the separation came as dramatic as it was surprising: After a prickly party night in Hamburg – Burkard hung in his own words “About the toilet” – her ex -partner called.
“I told him that I love him infinitely. That I miss him, but he doesn’t see me as I am,” she describes the emotional moment. At home in Cologne, the great reconciliation followed: “My husband was sitting and waiting for me. Rosamunde-Pilcher-We fell into our arms for hours.”
Today the TV presenter knows: “I believe that our love under a mountain of false assumptions, partly justified accusations, false communication, poor culture of dispute and too little real time was buried for each other.” This knowledge helped the couple to find each other again.
Katja Burkard and Hans Mahr have been a couple since 1998 and have two daughters together (born 2001 and 2007). The two are not married, on April 21 Burkard celebrates her 60th birthday.
