The Weeknd It reaches the big screen, with Hurry Up Tomorrowa psychological thriller directed by Trey Edward Shults.
The film, which also has the participation of Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghanpremiered its first official advance, a sample of the disturbing story and loaded with symbolism that the artist has prepared.
Lionsgate, the film’s distributor in the United States, confirmed that its cinemas premiere will be on May 16, 2025.
What is Hurry Up Tomorrow
This fiction that will be released in selected cinemas follows the history of an insomnic musician who is dragged into an odyssey with a mysterious strange, who gradually crumbles his perception of reality and takes him to the edge of mental collapse.
“It is about an artist who is on the verge of an emotional crisis,” said director Trey Edward Shults in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “Know this woman and together they undertake a journey. It is a mixture between psychological thriller and drama. Honestly, I’ve never seen a movie like this. ”
The character of Jenna OrtegaAnimates, seems to be a manifestation of a hidden side of the protagonist. “She is a version of Abel that The Weeknd’s character does not show frequently,” said the actress in conversation with the magazine.
On the other hand, Barry Keoghan plays Lee, the manager of The Weeknd character, who, according to Shults, “has a relationship with Abel based on affection, but could also hide darker intentions.”
With the first seconds of the trailer, Hurry Up Tomorrow establishes a disturbing and disturbing atmosphere. The initial sequence shows a upside down city, followed by an image of The Weeknd floating almost completely submerged in the water.
