Peter Maffay: Surprising separation with his son

After almost two years he is on the road again: Yaris Makkay (21), the son of Peter Maffay (75), and his girlfriend Tamara separated. So far, the ex-couple is silent about the reasons.

Since July 2023 the musician and the Munich native have been a couple. In autumn she had accompanied him on his first own tour and helped with the Merchandise sale. Now the surprising ending relationship: “It is true. We are no longer together,” he confirmed, “but we went apart in the good. We continue to have contact and talk. Even if it may sound stupid: it was a nice separation without evil feelings or mutual Allegations. ” Both want to continue to take care of the common cat.

Makkay distracts himself from emerging loneliness, works in his father’s office in Tutzing, Upper Bavaria and is supposed to work on new songs: “I will go on my way,” assures the 21-year-old. His first album is scheduled to appear this year. “I know that I am at the very beginning. But I’m ready for the big trip.”

While his offspring plays his first concerts, Peter Maffay said goodbye to the demanding tour life. He wanted to devote himself more to his family. In November 2018, his first child with his wife Hendrikje (38) was born. The little girl keeps the old rocker busy.

“Sometimes against your own will, but that’s really good,” enthused Maffay in one. “It is an energy that I try to bring to my future life. I really want to experience my daughter’s Abitur ball!” For this he changes his lifestyle. Because it is an illusion to assume that mental and physical dynamics remain unlimited. But: “You can put a foot in the door by leading a lifestyle that slows down this process. I try that.”

Maffay also works on the implementation of the “Anouk” children’s book series produced by him and his wife as a musical. The musical is expected to celebrate its premiere in autumn 2024.
