The nominees for inclusion in the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame” have been determined. Among them are US singer Mariah Carey, the British rocker Billy Idol and the Mexican band Maná.
Music stars such as Mariah Carey (55), Cyndi Lauper (71), Billy Idol (69) and the rocker Joe Cocker, who died in 2014, are on the list of nominated list for admission to the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame”. A total of 14 candidates also include the British bands Bad Company, New Order and Oasis, the US groups The Black Crowes, Phish, Soundgarden and The White Stripes as well as the Mexican band Maná.
According to the announcement of the glory hall in Cleveland in the US state of Ohio, the American rock’n’roll singer Chubby Checker (83) and the hip-hop duo Outkast round off the list of contenders. Eight of the nominees are therefore for the first time, including Joe Cocker, Billy Idol and Phish.
At the end of April it will be announced who will be finally included in the Hall of Fame this year. More than 1,200 musicians, musicologists and other members of the industry decide on the selection. The voices of fans are also included. The official celebration is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles in autumn. The condition for the admission is that the publication of the first album was at least 25 years ago.
Eight artists and bands were recorded last year, underneath, including Ozzy Osbourne, Mary J. Blige, Foreigner and Dave Matthew’s band.
