The Rockwelt mourns the loss of a music legend: Rick Buckler, who co -founded The Jam, died after a short illness.
Rick Buckler (1955-2025), drummer of the legendary British rock band The Jam, died on February 17 after a short illness. Singer Paul Weller (66) and guitarist Bruce Foxton (69) shared the sad news on Tuesday. He was 69 years old.
“Our dreams far exceeded”
They confirmed the news of his death in separate explanations. (formerly Twitter) that he was “shocked” and “sad”. “I think of our joint rehearsals in my bedroom in the Stanley Road in Woking. We have surpassed our dreams far and what we created has survived the time. My deepest sympathy applies to the entire family and all friends.”
Bruce Foxton: “Rick was a good guy and a great drummer whose innovative drum patterns contributed to shaping our songs.” He was happy “that we could work together so much”.
Rick Buckler was born in Woking and met Welle and Foxton at school. The trio founded The Jam in the early 1970s. Her debut album “In the City” was released in 1977. They released a total of seven albums before separating themselves in 1982. Buckler took a break from the music in the mid -1990s to work as a carpenter. In 2005, however, he celebrated a comeback with a new band, The Gift. He later joined Bruce Foxton and they toured together from 2007 to 2009. Also under the name from the Jam, they appeared together again several times.
He canceled tour for health problems
Just a few weeks ago, Rick Buckler had to cancel his Spoken word tour due to “persistent health problems”. On February 1, his team released the news on Facebook and announced that the musician was advised to “take a break”.
Rick Buckler leaves his wife Lesley and two children.
