The singer’s tour keeps stalling: a week ago, a concert in Lima fell out, now she has to put fans put off in her home country. The roof of the stage is broken.
On her tour by Latin America and the USA, the Colombian singer Shakira (48) has to cancel another concert – of all people in her home country. Because the roof was damaged in Medellín when building the stage in the Estadio Atanasio Girardot, the appearance planned for next Monday must be canceled, the organizer said. The safety of the artists, the employees and the audience cannot be guaranteed. A replacement date for the concert is now to be sought in the second half of the year.
Last weekend, Shakira (“Hips Don’t Lie”, “TQG”) had already had to cancel a concert in the Peruvian capital Lima. The singer had been brought into the emergency room with severe abdominal pain.
With her album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (“The women no longer cry”), for which she recently won the prize for the best Latin pop album at the Grammys in Los Angeles, currently touring Shakira through South and North America . Almost 40 concerts are still planned by the end of June.
