Lynne Marie Stewart, known as Miss Yvonne from “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse”, died at the age of 78.
The popular US actress Lynne Marie Stewart (1946-2025) is dead. The actress that became known primarily through her role as Miss Yvonne in the children’s cultural series “Pee-We’s Playhouse” died on February 21 at the age of 78. The sad news was made by her long -time girlfriend, actress Cassandra “Elvira” Peterson (73).
“My heart was broken when I found out about my dear friend Lynne Stewart,” Peterson wrote in an emotional post. “She was one of the kindest, sweetest and funniest women who have ever lived.” Stewart was the “iconic Miss Yvonne” and will remain “the most beautiful woman in the doll country” forever.
The deceased also paid tribute to other companions. “I lost a friend today. And the world has lost a big soul, “.. “It seemed impossible to me because I thought their kindness and light would live forever.”
From the sketch comedy to the film star
Stewart began her career in the 1970s at the Sketch comedy team The Groundlings in Los Angeles. There she also met Paul Reubens (1952-2023), with whom she later worked in the famous children’s series “Pee-Wee’s Playhouse”. The series ran from 1986 to 1990 and made Stewart a star as Miss Yvonne.
In the course of her almost 50-year career, the actress, born in Los Angeles, was seen in numerous successful productions. She played in films such as “American Graffiti” and series such as “Laverne & Shirley” and “M*A*S*H”. She had her last major role as Bonnie in the successful series “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” alongside Danny Devito (80).
“This woman. So lovable, so funny,” her former colleague Mary Elizabeth-Ellis (45) recalled in one of her Instagram stories. “I can’t believe that I was able to get to know her and work with her after I was fond of her when I was looking at ‘PEE-WEE’.”
