Patrick Schwarzenegger (31) does not seem to let go of the shadow of his world -famous father Arnold Schwarzenegger (77) even in his greatest role. The actor, who is currently on the third season of the celebrated HBO series “The White Lotus”, has now defended itself against allegations of nepotism.

“I know that there are people who will say that I only get this role because he is my dad,” explains Patrick Schwarzenegger. However, these critics would overlook how much work he invested in his acting career. “You don’t see the ten years of acting lessons, the hours of work on my characters or the hundreds of unsuccessful auditions that I was with.”

The aspiring actor admits that the constant comparisons and prejudices burden him. “Of course it’s frustrating. At such moments you think: I wish I didn’t have my last name,” he admits openly in the interview.

Nevertheless, he would “want to exchange his life with anyone”. He was “very happy” about his parents “and the lessons and values ​​they taught me”. Patrick is the eldest son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and his ex-wife Maria Shriver (69). With Katherine (35) and Christina (33) he has two older sisters and with Christopher (27) a younger brother. Ironically, Patrick actually owes his part in “The White Lotus” to his family – albeit different from critics. As he reveals in the interview, it was his mother and sisters who encouraged him to audition after watching the first two seasons together. “Every time we saw the show, my mother always said: ‘Why didn’t you say for it? Why were you not there?'”, The actor recalls.

In the third season of “The White Lotus”, Patrick Schwarzenegger plays the oldest son of a successful businessman who works in his father’s company. So also a kind of nepo baby.
