Wave, smile and bake in Wales

During their visit to the Welsh Pontypridd, Prince William and Princess Kate also laid a hand – and bake a cake.

Back to the work: Prince William (42) and Princess Kate (43) arrived on Wednesday, February 26, on their first joint appointment after the short vacation in South Wales.

There were also problems with the train: Due to train failures, their arrival was delayed by almost an hour. It is a short video to see the couple goes unusually casually along the platform when they arrive. Of course not entirely undetected – Kate waves some passers -by who film the Royals film on their way.

In the red coat and with yellow daffodils

Arrived in Pontypridd it was less quiet. The prince couple was welcomed by enthusiastic fans who swiveled the Welsh flag. Princess Kate had prepared for this: her red coat can be interpreted as a tribute to the red kite, which adorns the green and white flag. Both the prince and the princess also wore yellow pins in the form of daffodil – the national flower of Wales.

The couple’s first stop was a market that has been the heart of the community since 1805. There William and Kate visited a traditional bakery and rolled out the dough for the Welsh cake. Then they met with people in a cafe who told the Royals about their experiences with the severe floods in a row of two storms at the end of 2024.

Special place for the princess and the prince of Wales

Wales is a special place for the couple: Not only have the two of them carry the title of the country since King Charles’ (76) crowning throne, the two also lived before and shortly after their wedding in 2011 in Wales, while William was stationed as a lifeguard pilot in the RAF Anglesey. After Wales, her first trip after the death of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) was also possible.
