Frederik and Mary did not miss the opportunity to swing their legs. The palace shared on its Instagram account, including some pictures that show the royal couple when dancing. The Les Lanciers is a quadrilla dance that consists of five rounds, the fifth round is called “Herremøllen” (German “men’s mill”) and is a Danish addition to the dance.

While Frederik was dressed in a classic black tuxedo with fly, Mary glittered in a sparkling old -gross robe with sequins from Jenny Packham, the queen wore a subtle pink tiara in her hair.

The former Queen, Margrethe II (84), was also included in the festive ball, which the event together with husband Prince Henrik (1934-2018) launched under the name “Arts et Lettres”.
