Veronica Ferres: Why she was never a “crime scene” commissioner

From March 4, Veronica Ferres (59) can be seen in the new television film series “Alpentod – a Berglang thriller” at RTL () in the role of a crime commissioner. It is the first time in her career that Ferres plays a TV investigator. However, such a role was on the debate earlier – at the iconic “crime scene”.

that there was actually a request for a new “crime scene” commissioner. “A broadcaster and a production company wanted to develop a” crime scene “commissioner with me,” said Ferres. As is known, nothing became out of the plans. Ferres explains that this was due to her full schedule: “It failed that I was already firmly booked for a theater role and also had commitments on television. Two 90-minute, crime scene ‘per year was not possible at the time.”

Nevertheless, Ferres was often seen at the “crime scene”, around 1989 in a case of Schimanski, played by Götz George (1938-2016). Most recently, in 2023 she appeared alongside the Munich investigator duo Batic and Leitmayr, played by Miroslav Nemec (70) and Udo Wachtveitl (66), in the “crime scene” with the title “Queen”.

Instead of the public service law, Ferres is now investigating RTL as Commissioner Birgit Reincke in “Alpentod-a Bergland thriller”. For the time being, two films “old wounds” and “common goals” are planned. In addition to Ferres in the investigative team, Tim Oliver Schultz (36) and Salka Weber (36) can also be seen.

The multi -layered role of the investigator would have captivated her directly, says Ferres: “A modern, quick -witted woman, at the same time deeply injured and disappointed with life, love and her police work. That is why she had started her service in the archive and never wanted to solve a case again.”
