Visit to Pontypridd
Wales is very popular with the British Royals: This week Prince William and Princess Kate (43) had already visited the south of Wales. The couple attended a market in Pontypridd, tried traditional Welsh Cakes, met those affected by the floods and wore pins in the form of yellow daffodils, the national flower of Wales.
Wales is a special place for the couple: Not only have the two of them have the title of the country since King Charles’ (76) crowning throne, they also lived before and shortly after their wedding in 2011 in Wales, while William was stationed as a lifeguard pilot in the RAF Anglesey. After Wales, her first trip after the death of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) was also possible.
The recent journey of William and Kate was the second common royal appearance this year after the couple took part in a service for the Holocaust Memorial Day in London on January 27th. It was not until mid -January that Kate had announced that after treatment of her cancer was in remission last year.
