Before the 97th Oscar ceremony, the stars on the red carpet began. The numerous fans and journalists at the entrance to the Dolby Theater in Hollywood presented themselves on Sunday (local time) actresses such as the Oscar winner of 1987, Marlee Matlin, and the German costume designer Lisy Christl, who is nominated for her costumes for “Conclave” for an Oscar this year.
The gala begins at 4:00 p.m. local time (1:00 a.m. CET). This year the comedian and former talk show moderator Conan O’Brien leads through the evening.
This year, the award ceremony all over the world takes place under the impression of the devastating forest fires around Los Angeles, through which at least 29 people were killed in January and numerous houses were destroyed.
