Oscars: Halle Berry’s late revenge – Adam Sandler interrupts speech

Have you ever looked at how these photos of red carpets are taken? Not me either – until today. Professionally, I looked at the livestream of the Red Oscar carpet. And I was annoyed.

The photographers call the actresses “here, darling!”, “Turn on!”, “Over the shoulder!”. This is stressful if you only look at it. Sometimes the stars obey, mostly not. Some almost pull a show off – look down again and again so that the eyes are half open. Or open the mouth half as if they wanted to catch flying.

The men are completely different: often they only walk over the carpet, smile nice, play on their hair. That’s it. Nobody is called “darling”. Nobody would probably listen to it either.

Hollywood star Halle Berry has surprisingly retaliated more than 20 years after Adrien Brody’s stormy kiss at the Oscars. Berry (58) discovered the Oscar favorite (“The Brutalist”, 51) on the red carpet in front of the gala in Los Angeles and kissed him on the mouth, as can be seen on a video.

“It was a great night for him, and for me too. To be part of this moment … I had to pay it back this evening,” quoted the “Variety” industry sheet.

She saw him at parties, but this was the first time since that night that she saw Brody somewhere on the red carpet. “He is nominated this year. He deserves that.”

At the Oscar Awards in 2003, Berry presented Brody for his leading role in the Holocaust drama “The Pianist”. He hugged the actress and pressed a kiss on her mouth. The campaign made headlines at the time.

Adam Sandler was part of the Oscar opening speech this year. Only connoisseurs will have recognized a rare crossover, i.e. a reference between the Golden Globes and the Oscars.

It begins with Sandler wearing a light blue zipper hoodie with shorts-while his star colleagues sit around him in a suit or tailcoat. Moderator Conan O’Brien, of course, does not leave this uncommented. Sandler then in played outrage: “Nobody has thought about what I am wearing until you addressed it!”

The actor continues: “I like what I look. Because I am a good person, I don’t care what I do and what.

Sandler gets up, storms out of the hall. “I go. I have to. It’s not because of you,” he says to the audience. “It is he!” Sandler points to the moderator. But when he comes by next to Timothée Chalamet, he stops. And calls: “One thing: Chalameeeeeet!”

An insider joke. The gag started with the Golden Globes, as a presenter Nikki Glaser during her opening monologue, made a joke about Chalamet’s name: “Your name sounds like something that Adam Sandler would say.” Sandler jumped in to illustrate the joke by calling “Timothée ah ChalameEeeet”.
