The stars love this trend, but how naked can a naked dress be? Designer Kilian Kerner clarifies.
The Naked Dress is currently an integral part of the Red Carpets. Stars love the transparent dresses that show a lot of skin, but skilfully cover the essentials. This is also proven by the outfits of Elizabeth Hurley (59), Emily Ratajkowski (33) and Olivia Wilde (40) at the Oscar party of “Vanity Fair”. Julia Fox (35) was particularly daring, who caused a sensation with a completely transparent dress – only her long brown hair covered the bare essentials.
But how much skin should a naked dress actually show? Fashion designer Kilian Kerner leaves this decision to the wearers themselves. “Everyone has to determine this individually. In my opinion, the lower area should always be covered,” explains Kerner in an interview with the news agency spot on news.
For Kilian Kerner, a successful naked dress look is primarily a question of the “overall concept”. For him, this also includes the right laundry, which should be ideally matched to the respective robe. The designer attributes the continuing popularity of these clothes to the topic of “self -determination”. “A woman can and does what she wants. The Naked Dress stands for power and the love for her own body,” explains Kerner.
Bianca Censoris controversial Grammy look
A few weeks ago, Bianca Censori (30) with her Naked Dress provided a scandal at the Grammys. The wife of Kanye West (47) presented a transparent mini dress on the red carpet under a coat – a look that caused heated discussions. But was it still a naked dress? “Sure, that was definitely a naked dress,” clarifies fashion designer Kilian Kerner. However, the look goes too far for him: it looked less like a well-thought-out fashion appearance, but rather like a targeted PR measure and pure “provocation”.
