Jay-Z has submitted defamation lawsuit

Jay-Z strikes back: After the unknown woman who accused him of sexual abuse withdrew her lawsuit, the rapper is now suing her.

Rapper Jay-Z (55) submitted a defamation against the lawyers Tony Buzbee and David Fortney as well as the unknown woman, who had accused him of sexual abuse in a previously fallen lawsuit.

The lawsuit was submitted in the US state of Alabama. Jay-Z, bourgeois Shawn Carter, claims that the original allegations of rape know knowingly “wrong” and “malicious” and “strategically and tactically calculated to add maximum pain and suffering”. He complains about malicious persecution, process abuse, civil law conspiracy and defamation.

Ms. pulled back a lawsuit against Jay-Z

It is about a lawsuit that the lawyer Tony Buzbee, who had initially broke down dozens of complaints against Sean “Diddy” Combs (55), initially submitted in October 2024. Two months later, he added Jay-Z as a defendant and submitted the lawsuit again. Both men are accused of raping the unknown woman in 2000 at an after party at MTV Video Music Awards. She is said to have been 13 at the time.

Jay-Z vehemently denied the allegations. On February 14, the plaintiff finally withdrew her lawsuit, according to her lawyers “voluntarily and with a prejudice effect”, a new lawsuit in this matter is therefore excluded. Why she withdraw the lawsuit is not known.

Jay-Z now claims that the lawsuit was based on false information and that the applicant suffered from personal and financial difficulties that she was primarily concerned with money. Before her lawyer Tony Buzbee added Carter’s name of the lawsuit, he sent him a “blackmail” letter of claim and an anonymous lawsuit.

Jay-Z does not want to reveal the woman’s identity

The lawyers of the music mogul also claim that the woman informed her lawyer that Jay-Z “did not sexually attack her” and that Buzbee “pushed her to spread the wrong story against Mr. Carter” in order to blackmail more money.

It also says that Jay-Z raises the lawsuit “not carelessly” and that he does not want to reveal the identity of the woman despite everything. But he wanted to “take her to account for her intentional defamation per se and her malicious persecution.”

Lawyer Tony Buzbee, on the other hand, sees Jay-Z’s lawsuit as “another attempt to intimidate and harass this poor woman”. The quotes that are attributed to the woman in the lawsuit are “completely thought”. The case is “legally not lasting”.

Tony Buzbee currently represents more than 50 plaintiffs as a lawyer who accuse Sean Combs sexual abuse. The music producer is faced with more than 40 civil lawsuits and has been in custody since September 2024 in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. He is accused of blackmail and human trafficking. His process is scheduled to begin in May 2025.
