Houseplants are grateful roommates: they beautify every room and clean the air. So that they do not enter, they demand a certain degree of care.
Just because they are among the people who have no green thumb, they don’t have to do without houseplants. Simply rely on easy -care specimens that (as the name suggests) little time and effort. In the following we present five plants that are robust and undemanding. Which means so much as: you have to do very little to keep the green roommates alive. However, it doesn’t work without your intervention either. You can read why this is so.
Easy -care houseplants: our top 5
1. Monstera
The also known as a window sheet, you can easily see your heart -shaped leaves with side slots. The robust climbing plant comes from warmer realms, namely Central and South America, and not only prefers a sunny to partially shaded location there. As for care, the Monstera is satisfied with little water – but you should still pour the plant at regular intervals. And if you still want to do something good to the green roommate, dust the big leaves every few months with a soft rag and some water.
2. Yucca palm
An equally popular houseplant is that (or palm lily). Her pointed, long and rather sharp leaves stand up almost vertically and make the easy -care green plant look like a palm – even if it is not at all. In fact, it belongs to the family of agave plants. The rather thick trunk also contributes to this picture. Yucca loving the sun has little demands on its surroundings, and it also does not have a little water. Depending on how warm it is, the plant has to be watered at most one to two weeks (in the winter months sufficient once a month).
3. Elephant foot
His name moves through its distinctive appearance: the (Beaucarnea Recurvata) has a bulb -shaped foot in which the easy -care houseplant can store water. For this reason, even longer dry periods for the succulent bottle tree are no problem. It is only important that the plant is placed in a bright and sunny location. In contrast to other plants, this is particularly slow on this copy, which belongs to the water palms. In the event that you live in a small apartment, for example, a great advantage.
4. Happiness spring
Even more easy to care for than the houseplants already presented, the be from East Africa, also called Zamioculcas. It is satisfied with very little water and even thrives at shady locations. The only thing she doesn’t like are wet feet – i.e. waterlogging, which is promoted by increased watering (which cannot happen if you rarely use the watering can). Their upright, growing shoots with small, dark green leaves are also very decorative, and it is not without reason that the lucky spring is referred to as a leaf flavor.
5. Arching hemp
“Sansevieria Futura Superba” is the scientific name of the . The easy -care houseplant is known for its long, thick leaves (which it uses as a water reservoir), which grow up vertically. It is not only satisfied with low amounts of water, but also improves the indoor climate by filing the succulent pollutants such as carbon dioxide from the air and producing oxygen at the same time. The robust desert plant prefers a light and warm place – for example near the heating, where other houseplants usually feel uncomfortable.
