More than 85 years ago, Shitsui Hakoishi became a hairdresser – a profession she still does today. In the meantime, she is the world’s oldest representative of her guild.
Japanese Shitsui Hakoishi, as the oldest hairdresser in the world, set an almost incredible record. In a ceremony in her home town, the East Japanese town of Nakagawa, representatives of the company “Guinness World Records Limited” gave her a certificate as the oldest hairdresser in the world. She is already more than 108 years old.
She passed the hairdresser with 22
Hakoishi was born on November 10, 1916. At the age of 22, she passed the hairdresser. She married a colleague, together she opened a business. However, this was destroyed in World War II and her husband killed.
In 1953, Hakoishi then opened his own hairdressing salon in which she still works. In 2021 she was also allowed to perform as a torch runner at the Tokyo Olympic Games. How satisfied their customers are with their cutting arts were not transmitted.
