For a long time, underwear is no longer just for special occasions or something that woman hidden under the clothes. High quality lingerie also ensure a feel-good factor in everyday life and sometimes even belong to the right outfit, for example when the top bra looks out in the blazer combination. Which lingerie trends are in 2025 and what you have to consider when buying suitable underwear.

Nicole Kattwinkel from the Store Rigby & Peller in Hamburg-Eppendorf is familiar with the underwear preferences of her customers and the lingerie trend. She says: “My customers mainly like variance, so that you can also add elements, like an additional strip to make the look a little more wicked.” Even striking colors can be seen more often in 2025. These three trends in particular can be found in current collections.

As already mentioned above, “Bondage with style” is one of the lingerie trends 2025. Whether transparency, strips, tangas or narrow-cut lingerie: sexy-looking underwear is particularly popular this year. For example, in black and gold or with small rings: the details make the difference in this trend, otherwise it is kept minimalistic. It is of course particularly attractive when that fits together. Or you use a sexy body that is also one of the trends.

But also romantic playfulness is announced by many: Kattwinkel reveals. “Some of our models can be transformed into a Neckholder. When you see the flower carriers flash out, for example in the color ‘Electric Pink’, it can look great. For example, combined with a leather jacket,” says the expert. “Our customers bear that: then inside like a piece of jewelry.” Next to But other playful patterns are currently announced: a mussel room, lively lines or floral tips. The “pin strip” print in particular was the order of the day in 2025.

Lingerie can also act as an eye-catcher element in striking colors: who looks out under the otherwise rather simple blazer look. According to the expert, other trendy colors are a trendy kaki, deep dark blue, warm caramel tones, fuchsia and deep red as well as deep violet.

In addition to the current trends, Nicole Kattwinkel also knows what is important when buying lingerie. “The stop at the bra does not come via the carrier, but always takes place over the back.” That means: The wearer should not sit tightly, but two finger width should always fit underneath. Instead, it should be narrower under the chest, the bridge should be on the lie and back and closure should be straight and nestle with the body horizontally – otherwise there is a risk that the wearer will slip on the shoulder and, in the event of a matter of charge, posture damage will occur. “The brackets have to completely enclose the breasts, the bridge has to be nicely located on the sternum and the cups on the top of the chest,” adds Kattwinkel.
