Udo Lindenberg can imagine a duet with Swift
Udo Lindenberg not only made a name for himself as a rock musician, but also as a painter. Around 200 of his works can now be seen in Tübingen. Before the exhibition, he tells of a wish.
Rock musician and painter Udo Lindenberg (“Special train to Pankow”, “Komet”) can still imagine some duets. For example with pop superstar Taylor Swift. “If you enter the booth for us, I would not say no,” said the 78-year-old when opening an anniversary exhibition of his works of art in the new art museum in Tübingen.
People could do a lot with Taylor’s texts. She sings about things that moved many people. “So everyone has experiences with their friends, their problems, their dark days, their difficult times and so,” says Lindenberg. It is similar with his texts. For example, people wrote to him that his songs would have given them power and courage.
Another duet partner is Nina Hagen. “We meet now and then in Hamburg now and then because she now lives in Hamburg,” said the musician.
The new art museum Tübingen was opened today. Around 200 creations from Lindenberg can be seen in an exhibition on 1,200 square meters in the museum. Lindenberg has been painting watercolors with liqueur since the 1990s – the “liqueurs”. The show opens on March 8th for the audience and can be seen until June 15th.
