In an interview, Don Johnson spoke about his friendship with Bruce Willis and sent the sick actor “love”.

Don Johnson (75) and Bruce Willis (69) combine a friendship for decades. On the occasion of the Midseason premiere of his successful ABC drama series “Doctor Odyssey”, Johnson now spoke about his relationship with Willis and his current state of health.

“We are best friends and he is currently struggling a bit and I want to use this moment to send him love,” said Johnson about the “Die Hard” star ,.

Diagnosis dementia

The von Bruce Willis family announced in February 2023 that a frontotemporal dementia was diagnosed with the actor, who turns 70 at the end of March. A year earlier, his relatives had already announced that Willis suffered from aphasia.

In an interview with “Entertainment Tonight”, Johnson also remembered how he campaigned for his friend in front of Willis’ breakthrough with the “Moonlighting” series. He had campaigned for Willis to achieve a role in the first season of his 1980s series “Miami Vice”-with success.

First TV role thanks to Johnson

“It was his first episode role on television, before ‘Moonlighting’,” said Johnson, while he also said that Willis’ daughter Rumer (36) now has a guest appearance in “Doctor Odyssey”.

At the first use of her father, Johnson said: “I knew him from New York, we went out together and he was funny. So I called our casting director of ‘Miami Vice’ and said: ‘There is a guy who strikes through as an actor, and you should invite him and let him invite, because he is really funny and I think he was good,” continued Johnson. “She let him audition and occupied him for the role of a racket of women,” he recalled.
