Triathlon training accident on Fuerteventura: “Taßchau” spokesman Thorsten Schröder is injured in the collarbone.
Thorsten Schröder (57) has been an enthusiastic triathlete for years, now the “Tagesschau” spokesman has been his passion. When training for the extreme triathlon in Norseman in Norway, he fell. He broke his collarbone. Thorsten Schröder described his accident on Fuerteventura. “Full braking on the way to the Norseman: a fall, a crack, the training camp was over before it really started,” it says.
Thorsten Schröder made a video for the text. First you can see how he climbs a mountain with his bike. Cut. Then he films himself lying on the ground. Another cut and we see the moderator how he drinks a cup of tea with a loop around his left arm.
Reading due to broken collarbone
The collarbone break is now operated on. Then it is called “wait”. Wait when he can get back into training for the Norseman. He has not yet given up hope of being able to compete there on August 2. But his priority is “to get healthy”.
Thorsten Schröder has to cancel his reading planned for March 13 in Kiel. He announces this in a story on Instagram. He puts his fans in the state capital of Schleswig-Holstein to a catch-up date on April 17th. The reading on March 27 in Hamburg takes place as planned.
Thorsten Schröder is on a reading tour with his book “With Each fiber”. In it, he describes, among other things, to his first Ironman race in Hawaii. The news speaker previously wrote the book “News from Ironman” about his hobby.
