During a visit to a nursing school, King Charles tested resuscitation measures and showed himself as a eager student.
King Charles III. (76) has demonstrated operational readiness and humor when he demonstrated his skills in heart-lung resuscitation during a visit to the “Royal College of Nurses” (RCN) in London. The monarch carried out chest compressions on a practice model and then joked: “At least I didn’t break it.”
The king took part in several first aid demonstrations on Tuesday, in which, among other things, the liberation in the event of a risk of suffocation, infection prevention and the correct implementation of resuscitation measures were demonstrated.
Committed royal first aid
while he carried out 28 out of 30 intended breast compressions under guidance. The young instructor instructed the king: “Hold your arms straight and position your shoulders over her hands to put the right pressure.” After completing the exercise, she certified the monarch to having mastered his task “very well”, which was acknowledged with applause from the other present.
During the demonstration to help with the risk of suffocation, Charles was pointed out that increased risk of suffocation could also be “age -related”, whereupon he indicated that this was well known to him – especially when drinks “go in the wrong direction”.
Personal encounter with the 1000th student
The program launched in 2019 is intended to help young people to acquire skills in the care sector. The king’s visit was now in the sign of the celebration of the 1,000th RCN student, 16-year-old Harrison Rigby from Colchester. The king presented him with a framed certificate and joked about his twin brother Jefferson, who “pulled the shorter” as a student in 999.
Before the monarch said goodbye, he assured the trainees that he was “really proud” on them, and added: “We will rely on you more and more.”
An evening in the sense of sustainability
In the evening, the monarch was then on an event on the subject of sustainability, in which Charles looked at some new technologies. Together with CEOs and government representatives and designers Stella McCartney (53) he visited the “Terra Carta Roundtafles & Exhibition” in the Hampton Court Palace in London.
Five years ago, Charles had founded the “Sustainable Markets” initiative behind the summit and aims to “place nature, people and the planet at the center of global added value”.
In a good mood, the king is said to have given a speech and talked to other participants. He also spoke friendly to Stella McCartney – a member of the council for his son Prince William’s Earth Shot Prize.
