Boris Becker wants to share his experiences behind bars with the world. The book “Inside” is to be “unfiltered and unmasked”.
Boris Becker (57) spent 231 days in British prisons in 2022. The German tennis legend will provide information about the more than unusual time in his life in a new book. Becker has that. The “Inside” work is scheduled to appear on September 10 of this year. The details.
Boris Becker still plague nightmares from prison periods
“Last year I allowed myself to dive deeply into one of the most painful experiences of my life. I was confronted with memories that I would rather forget with nightmares that still pursue me, and with feelings that I didn’t know whether I would survive. The writing was my attempt to cure and find a way to give the whole thing,” explains Becker in his book announcement. Now he was ready to share what has been experienced and suffered with his readers.
“Honestly, unfiltered and unmasked”
As is well known, the star was sentenced to a two and a half year prison sentence in London in April 2022. For around seven months of it he sat down in the prisons Wandsworth and Huntercombe. He now wants to tell his truth about the time of his imprisonment – “honestly, unfiltered and unmasked”, as it says on Instagram.
The hope of the former Wimbledon winner is “that this raw, honest story appeals to people beyond tennis and touches heart, who know how to fall and get up again”.
After serving his prison sentence, it recently only seemed to go up for Becker. For example, he recently took part in the survival show “Bear Hunt-the celebrity hunt” (“Celebrity Bear Hunt”) and started the podcast “Becker Petrovic” together with ex-tennis professional Andrea Petković (37).
Privately, he found his luck with Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro (34), which was also at his side during his detention. The couple said yes in September 2024 in Portofino, Italy. It is the third marriage for Becker.
