Celine Dion shared her diagnosis with Stiff-Person-Syndrome in 2022. She suffers from muscle cramps every day. But a new video gives hope.
They are pictures that let you breathe: Céline Dion (56) happy and full of vigor. In one, the singer and passionate golfin swings the golf club and after a successful blow, puts a joy dance on the green for her sons René-Charles (24) and the twins Nelson and Eddy (14), who apparently recorded the scenes with their cell phones.
After she had smashed the ball over the golf course, Dion used the racket as a guitar for an air guitar solo in white golf trousers with a suitable Longsleeve and Sonnenhut. She triumphantly danced back to the GolfCart. “It was so good,” you hear one of her sons say appreciatively. “I had a nice day with my boys on the pitch,” she titled the video that she posted on her Instagram account and added: “Get going again!” The sick singer indicated that she hadn’t been standing on the golf course for a long time.
“Your smile and your energy to see is pure joy!” Commented the singer’s contribution, which revealed at the end of 2022 that she was diagnosed with the incurable Stiff-Personal syndrome (SPS). A rare neurological disease that can cause muscle cramps with muscle hardening in particular of the fuselage muscles.
“The cramps affect every aspect of my life”
The “My Heart will go on” interpreter revealed herself to its fans in December 2022 after she had to stop her world tour in 2023 for the time being. “I have had to struggle with health problems for a long time, and it was really difficult for me to face my challenges and talk about anything that I went through. Unfortunately, these cramps affect every aspect of my daily life,” she said. “Sometimes it causes difficulties when walking and does not allow me to use my vocal cords as I am used to singing.” It was unclear whether and how to see the singer on stage again.
“It is not difficult to make a show. It is difficult to cancel one,” she had emphasized in the trailer for her Amazon documentary “I Am: Céline Dion”, but also that she would return. “I will go back on stage. And if I can’t walk, I’ll crawl. But I won’t stop!” With a spectacular appearance, she opened the Olympic Games at the Paris Eiffel Tower last year.
